I bet you thought the series was over. Not the case, luckily. I was merely trying to illustrate the most efficient, albeit maybe not more effective, strategy.

Over the past 5 days I have shown you the strategy known as Not Posting At All. So, while it seemed like I did nothing at all, I was proving a case.

I suggest practicing this strategy once in awhile, with a one, two, or three day break rather than five. I have had to remove some blogs from my reader because I log on after only one day and have 15 posts to read on one blog. It takes me forever to scroll down, not even reading. I think good content deserves an extra day to breathe, to build comments, once in awhile.

What type of posting strategy do you use to maximize effectiveness and efficiency?

Welcome to Part #4 in the Effective and Efficient Posting series. Today we will be examining how to get your readers to write your posts for you.

How do you make your readers provide the content?

Invite them in for guest posting. Self-explanatory. Chances are they will only be willing to do this if you have a large readership because guest posting is mostly done for publicity/money/favors for friends. In the third case, a friend in need is a friend indeed. Remember that. Oh, and by the way, would anyone like the privilege of guest posting on this blog? If you don’t have an Alexa tool-bar, then I’ll have you know I’m ranked only behind google. If you do have an Alexa tool-bar, then … never mind.

Do a survey or quiz. This is great because it can be a two parter. The first post invites reader to take part in your survey or quiz. The second part will address the findings. Make sure that your survey is on a worthwhile and important topic – like Carrie Harris’ survey on what she will do in the event of famousness. This is a question that we should all be asking ourselves regularly.

Simply ask a question.

Do you use a reader to follow blogs, or go au naturelle? Why or why not? What do you like/not like about them?

I read today over at ProBlogger that only 11% of the population use RSS.

Please share with us in the comments section. Let’s all debate this pressing and crucial question.

See? Easy as pie. That was actually three entire questions, not one, although I’m sure you were able to count that yourself. Don’t forget to answer them, either, because this one can be a two parter as well, in the same way that the survey method can be. A following post can address the findings.

So, I mentioned previously that I was going to do a series.

I should have looked into it before I mentioned it, because I’m not following that theme anymore. I have instead decided to follow yesterday’s theme and do a week long series of lazy, yet (hopefully) helpful or interesting posts. To give a positive spin on the word lazy, I’m going to refer to it as The Effective and Efficient Posting Series.

Yesterday’s post has now been miraculously transformed into Effective and Efficient Post #1: Compilation of Quotes. Be sure to follow suit and quote yourself, like I did. If you’re don’t think you have something important to add to the noise, who will?

After that disclaimer, let’s continue on to Post #2 in the series: Using Holidays to Maximum Advantage

Do you remember checking into your reader on Halloween or Thanksgiving and finding a whole slew of posts dedicated to wishing you a Happy [Insert Holiday Here]? I sure do. Did it fill you with a warm and glow as you received their wishes? Maybe you did … Maybe you didn’t. Either way, utilizing holidays is a surefire way to save time and energy year round.

A quick googling of “comprehensive list of holidays” led me to the Interfaith Calendar. It’s safe to say that there are more holidays than not, so go to town and don’t be afraid to get far fetched, either.

For instance, today is the birthday of Guru Nanak Dev Sahib. Who knew? Well, anyone who is Sikh, because it is a Sikh holiday, that’s who. A quick wiki led me to learn that he is a central figure in the Sikh religion, and the first of 12 gurus. Now, I’m no guru (or am I?) but I would have to say that that is worth a hearty Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday Guru Nanak Dev Sahib!

So, are you feeling that warm and happy glow due to my thoughtfulness yet? I thought so.

To make your wish appear more firm, and also give the illusion that you put a lot of time and consideration into the post, insure to include a heartwarming or hilarious image. Or make an excuse for their not being one, to give the illusion that you at least thought of including an image. As Guru Nanak has been dead for several centuries, I could not provide an image.
